Meet the Doula

Hi, I’m Brenna. The Founder and End of Life Doula at Among the Pines.

I am native Oregonian, avid outdoorswoman, angler, creative soul and fellow mortal. Anyone who knows me knows that my family, my animals, my community and the wilderness are what fills my heart.

I’ve spent the majority of my professional career caring for those facing serious illness, grief, aging and end of life. Throughout my many years as a community worker in hospice settings, I gained incredible insight and was blessed enough to form my core values and practices surrounding the sacred experience of dying. Since becoming a doula, I have dedicated my life to sharing my knowledge, providing counsel and guiding others to a peaceful departure.

I am a firm and avid believer in holistic, soul-centered care that utilizes vulnerability, compassion and honesty to honor the entire person and their unique journey. With my main focus during my hospice career being oncology patients, I witnessed patients of all ages, during all chapters and stages of grief and have witnessed the vast and miraculous differences in each persons journey. My philosophy is that everyone faces their life, death, mortality and grief in a way that’s as unique to them as their fingerprint and, furthermore, that everyone deserves to feel loved, cherished, supported and unafraid through it all.

Death is nature’s way of saying, ‘your table is read.’
