Meet the Doula
Hi, I’m Brenna, the founder and head Doula at Among the Pines. I’m so glad that you’re here exploring your comfortability with death and dying and seeking the resources we have to offer.
I started Among the Pines as a way to serve Oregonians facing terminal illnesses, mortality and their end-of-life journey by providing them with collaboratively tailored support and resources to ease the burden and instill hope and confidence in their end of life choices. After years of service working in senior living and hospice, I saw the incredible gaps in resources for my residents and patients and felt the unshakable desire to expand our state’s support for those facing the most intense, vulnerable and powerful chapter of their lives.
I am someone who has experienced and witnessed the undeniable need for the building of communities and villages around one another during times of crisis, grief and suffering. Our live’s and societies have changed drastically over the last several decades, leaving so many without access, connection or education that was once easily provided by those around us. While our access to meaningful, visceral and unconditional connection has dwindled, especially in our post-COVID society, our need for honest human interaction and unconditional support, acknowledgement and respect has never been greater. Through establishing Among the Pines, I sought out ways to grow and strengthen our communities and hope to continue this vital work for our most vulnerable Oregonians for years to come, in good times and (most importantly) bad.
If you’d like to know more about me, or if you have specific questions for us about Among the Pines and what we do, who we are or how we operate, I invite you to reach out and schedule an informational session. Having conversations, early, often and as transparent as possible is what we love to do!
To be loved is to be known.
